So April 30th I officially moved into my Disney apartment! The move in process went so smoothly minus my little panic attacks and being nervous! I had all my paperwork together so it was just a matter of signing stuff and getting my key. A housing representative took me to my apartment and showed me a few things on the way, it made it a lot more comfortable and I got settled in nicely. My family helped me unpack all my stuff so it was awesome, the only thing that sucked was none of my roommates could get there until about 11 or after so I was alone for basically the whole evening, instead of just sitting there though I ended up hanging out with my family! It was nice to get to spend as much time as I got to with them that week, it made it easier to get settled in!
Wednesday and Thursday after I moved in we had housing meetings, they went over rules and regulations and stuff like that one day and the next we had a bit of paperwork to fill out but nothing super crazy.
Saturday was the fun day! The first day at Disney University!! Never thought I'd get to say I went to Disney U! We had our Traditions class where we got to learn a lot about the past, present and future of Disney, we got to take a small walk through Magic Kingdom and got a little surprise visit from Mickey Mouse himself to give us a welcome! That day we also got our official Disney nametags and WDW ID's so we have access to parks, free parking, and discounts.... I truly have a key to the world!
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday were also days where we dressed in professional attire and did things like E-learning (computer based learning) got to meet our manager, and Tuesday we did our Discovery Day, so we got to go through Epcot and learn some things we'll need to know, as well as tour our pavilion and get to know the surroundings that we'll be working in. It felt good knowing exactly where I needed to be and everything!
Wednesday was my first day off after we'd started official Disney training! Meagan, Kristin and I decided to head into Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and go on some of the rides we hadn't been on in awhile. I can't tell you how much I missed Disney and I was just there in August!! I seriously don't think it's ever going to lose its magic for me.
Thursday was my first day of training in our pavilion! WHOOOOO! I'm starting out as a seater/greeter/setter in the restaurant so I got the luxury of getting to know the restaurant a little better. Thursday I did AM seater and Friday I did PM seater, Friday my trainer actually let me go off and seat by myself because she said I was a fast learner and I was capable of seating by myself! I felt really good about that because I felt like I'd accomplished something big! I'm keeping my fingers crossed to be asked to be a trainer, I think it would be an incredible experience so we will see!!!
Now I have today and tomorrow off, whoooo! Back to the grind on Monday where I get to learn the art of greeting! Should be fun!
