Those Disney Recruiters are quite the jokers! Remember how I said they told us we'd hear back from them in about a week with the details on whether or not we were going to be Disney employees? Well I woke up November 13th (the next day) and checked my emails like I normally do. I had an email from my YummyJobs recruiter. I opened it thinking that it would just be an email saying thank you for coming to the interviews and that I'd hear back in about a week, but no. As I kept scrolling down all of a sudden all I see is....
CONGRATULATIONS!!
I do believe all the blood started rushing to my head. I was home alone that morning so I didn't know what to do! I literally just started screaming and crying, you would've thought I just won American Idol...
First order of business... call Mom. She had no idea why I was calling her because she thought I still had a week to go, so it was equally as shocking for her! I then proceeded to call my dad, and my sisters. One of my sisters was in class so I couldn't call her and decided to go to the gym but texted her to call me. The gym was a waste of time, I found myself sitting on the machines, sometimes shaking with excitement, sometimes tearing up, sometimes just sitting, staring at nothing, thinking about it all. When my sister was done class, she called right away thinking something was wrong and BAM! I sprung the news on her! Next were my best friends! They have been nothing but supportive in all of this, and although they don't want me to go, they know this is a dream come true! I started getting Twitter mentions from my friends with their love and support, it was truly an incredible day. After things hadn't quite gone my way last year, something was finally going exactly how I wanted and I couldn't be more thrilled to finally be part of what will be an incredibly large Disney Family.
This is it, it's go time for me. Now all that's left before I leave is lots of paperwork, deciding what I'm going to leave at home.... and long, hard see ya laters! (No goodbyes, this isn't forever!)
It's time to make my dream a reality, and I officially have a countdown on my phone, counting down to the seconds. Sense my excitement? It's time to finally get this show on the road!
Oh yes, my start date? I've still got until April 30th to prepare myself! But the clock is ticking! As of today ...
