Telephone Interview.

Only a Phone Call Away!
Think of all the joy you'll find when you leave the world behind and bid your cares goodbye. - Peter Pan

Prepping...

So we're right on track! When I got my email early in September I got a set of dates and a time frame and I got to pick when I would be available for the YummyJobs recruiters to call me. I've never done a Phone Interview before so I had no idea what to expect for any of it.  This is a dream experience for me so I definitely wanted everything to be perfect.

I was told that the Telephone Interview was an informal interview and all the recruiters wanted was to be able to get to know the people they were interviewing.  Knowing that takes the stress off a little bit but in all honesty, not that much.  I decided to read other peoples blogs and start doing some research.  Reading up blogs helps the most.  You get to read exactly what happens from somebody who has been through it all and wants to help others who have the same dream.

I also did research on my country and the things that make our country stand out.  Even though the recruiters want to get to know you and what you're about, it's also good to know about your country and also about Disney and what that magical land is all about as well!  I mean, what person who is that passionate about their country and the place they are dreaming of going wouldn't stand out?

After...

My interview went incredibly well!  With all the research and preparation going into the interview, you learn quickly to just let it all go.  It's a really great thing to prepare for the interview with the research and the readings because then when you go into the interview you have a great deal of confidence but you quickly learn that your personality is your best friend for this interview!

The lady I talked to for my interview was amazing!  She was nothing but nice and wanted nothing but good things for me.  She made me so comfortable and I did not feel like I was being interviewed for one of the most successful companies in the world!  I was told that I would receive an email within the next few days to let me know whether or not I would be invited to the next step, the face-to-face interviews!

Things to Prepare...

So when I was reading up on this experience I found a blog that gave Pointers and things to help you prepare.  It was very helpful for me so I thought I might do that for others, who might hopefully use my blog in the future to prepare themselves!

1.  BE YOURSELF - Before you can impress others you need to impress yourself!  Your personality is  a key asset and probably the most important one you can have for this interview.
2.  CONFIDENCE - Along with being yourself, be confident in what you've got.
3.  DO YOUR RESEARCH - Even though you may not need as much research as you prepare, it's an awesome thing to have just to keep your confidence high and it sounds awesome when you know what you're talking about of course!
4.  SMILE - One of the best things I learned from this other blog!  A smile can be heard through your voice and brings out your happiness :)
